Facts
About Pediatric Cancer
By
the year 2010 it is expected that 1 in every 250 adults
will be a survivor of some form of pediatric cancer.
Childhood
Cancer is still the number one cause of death by disease
in children.
Brain
tumors are now the leading cause of cancer death in
children under age 15.
Children
with leukemia, the most common form of cancer occurring
in children, have an 80 percent chance of survival.
(Although the statistics for infants and teens are not
as encouraging.)
While
the statistics are improving along with medical technology,
we have a long way to go in eradicating this disease.
